President and Chief Investment Officer


Gregory has over 30 years of experience in the investment management business in Hartford, Connecticut, New York City and Honolulu. In New York, he was a partner and the Chief Investment Officer of Brundage, Story & Rose, a $7 billion investment manager. When the partnership was acquired by Bessemer Trust, Greg became the Deputy Chief Investment Officer of the new company, a $32 billion investment manager.

During his career in New York, he was founder, Chairman and Portfolio Manager of the Thermo Opportunity Fund, a closed-end investment management company traded on the America Stock Exchange.

Greg moved to Hawaii in 2001 to become President and Chief Investment Officer of Bishop Street Capital Management, a wholly owned subsidiary of First Hawaiian Bank. He was also the Chief Investment Officer of the Commercial Banking and Trust Group. He left First Hawaiian Bank to establish East West Wealth Management in 2005 where he was a Founder, Principal and Chief Investment Officer In 2013 he founded G.E. Ratté Asset Management to specialize in bespoke wealth management for families, their businesses and charitable endeavors.

Mr. Ratté received his BA with honors from Amherst College in Amherst, Massachusetts and completed a graduate business program at the Japan-America Institute of Management Sciences in conjunction with Sophia University in Tokyo, Japan. Greg was awarded the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation in 1989. He is a founding member and past President of CFA Hawaii, the local society of the CFA Institute. He is also a member of the New York Society of Securities Analysts.

Mr. Ratté is active in his community. He is currently serving on the Board of the Hawaii Opera Theatre, and was previously on the board of the Hawaii Symphony Foundation. He is also a long-time member of the Union League Club of New York.
